Please note: Time allocated to Q&A in 15-Minute Oral Presentations will occur as a short panel-style Q&A discussion at the end of all presentations in your session. 4. TABLETOP CONVERSATIONSTabletop Conversations sessions will run concurrently with other oral presentation types. This presentation style connects researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, advocates, students, early career researchers and other professionals working within all disciplines of gerontology to present their work to a round-table audience. Tabletop Conversations are designed to promote a laid-back, and interactive presentation style using graphs, charts, and other appropriate props to present the ideas and outcomes quickly, concisely and directly to smaller audiences. This allows for a lively discussion amongst those at each table, just as you’d imagine may take place during a lunch meeting with professional peers. A unique opportunity for brief presentations, perhaps on new projects or works in progress. It is a chance for presenters to be creative, receive feedback, practice presenting to a small group, and for delegates to network with the members of their table and discuss the topic directly with the presenter. In response to delegate feedback, Tabletop Conversation sessions will contain fewer presenters and tables to present to in 2018 to maximise the available time spent at each table and the opportunities for deeper discussion about, and insight into presentations. To further promote conversation and building connections, the time allocated for each presentation will be 10 minutes, allowing for 10 minutes for the table to ask questions and discuss the presentation. Allocated time for Tabletop Conversations: Presentations and Discussion – 20 minutes 5. RAPID-FIRE PRESENTATIONSRapid-fire presentations were introduced to the AAG Conference program in 2016 and featured again in 2017. In 2018, rapid-fire presentations will be available as a stand-alone presentation format. This means submitters do not have to submit a poster to present in a rapid-fire session. Rapid-fire presentations involve presenting to audience within a 5-minute timeframe and using a maximum of 5 PowerPoint slides.
